Bacteriostatic water

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, which is what allows a multi-use vial to be drawn from more than once over a 28-day period after it is first opened. It is the standard solvent for reconstituting lyophilised peptides in the laboratory.

We stock two sizes. The 3 ml vial suits single reconstitutions where the whole volume is used in one session. The 10 ml vial suits repeated work over several weeks. Both are supplied in sealed glass vials with a rubber stopper and a flip-off cap.

Bacteriostatic water is not the same as sterile water for injection, which contains no preservative and is single-use. Buy one, get one free applies to both sizes, and orders of five or more research peptide vials include a free 10 ml vial automatically.

Store at room temperature away from light. Once opened, keep refrigerated and discard after 28 days. Laboratory use only.
